Happy New Year!
Hello, all! I hope you are doing well and that 2014 has started as a great year for you and your family. We have began our free English as a Second Language Classes already, but it is not too late, you can still join us! We are no longer providing transportation to and from the Friendship House due to the new S.M.A.R.T. buses in Starkville. If you are unable to ride, you will need to find your own transportation. In addition, free Bible Study will begin Monday, January 27. Bible Study will be from 11:00-12:00 on Mondays. It is optional. However, everyone is welcome to join. We hope to see you Monday, at 9 for ESL classes, if you are still in Starkville!

Happy Thanksgiving
Hello, all,
The Friendship House will be closed the week of November 25 -November 29 due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. I hope you are able to get some rest and enjoy a wonderful day with friends and family on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day! Do not forget the fun of finding bargains on "Black Friday," November 29 at some of the stores. The schedule for the rest of our semester will be as follows: Monday, December 2-Wednesday December 4 will be normal ESL classes. Thursday, December 5, beginning at 9:00 am exactly (American time) we will start to watch the movie known as "The Nativity Story". This is about the events around the birth of Jesus Christ. This is why we celebrate Christmas. On Monday, December 9, the ladies from Mantee Baptist will join us for a fun time of making crafts and goodies. On Tuesday, December 10, we will take a field trip to Mrs. Connie's house for a potluck and Christmas party with our friends from the International Friends Group (The same group that had the Thanksgiving tasting for us.)Children will have to stay with the babysitters at the Friendship House. Please be at the Friendship house again by 9:00 am. We will return by 11, or close to it.
Also, please, check back here for local events that I may post that may be of interest to you and your family during this holiday season. For example, the Starkville Christmas Parade will be downtown on Monday, December 2, I believe starting around 5:30 or 6. I will post exact time later. Have a great week!
